Open PHACTS draws together multiple sources of publicly-available pharmacological and physicochemical data, accessible via the Open PHACTS Explorer, an intuitive interface, and the powerful Open PHACTS API.
Applications within the Open PHACTS Discovery Platform have been tailored to address the end-user needs of different aspects of drug research.
The Open PHACTS Explorer
The Open PHACTS Explorer allows multiple sources of publicly-available pharmacological and physicochemical data to be intuitively queried, and makes data provenance accessible at every step. The interface allows searching of compounds by name and chemical structure, and the investigation of pharmacological data by compound, target and enzyme family. Rather than providing visualisation tools for the various end-users of the Open PHACTS Discovery Platform, the Open PHACTS Explorer simply provides a search engine-like interface to explore the data present, and is freely available to use.
The example applications discussed here allow the information within the Open PHACTS Discovery Platform to be navigated and visualised in different ways. These tailored applications have been developed within the project to showcase the uses of the data and API from the Open PHACTS Discovery Platform to various end-users:
